Biology : Shrub 2-3 m tall, often with a short trunk 0,3-0,6 m high and then branching; crown flattish or rounded; young branches dark red-brown, ± glabrous; stipules not spinescent, soon deciduous;
Ecology : Acacia-Commiphora dry bushland; 100-700 m alt. (Somalia), c. 800 m (Ethiopia).
  Variable in pubescences of leaves and size of pods, the coastal forms differing from inland ones.
