Biology : Tree to 45 m; crown hemispherical; bole cylindrical, branchless for to 25 m, to 200 cm ø above buttresses; base of large trees often with thick plank roots, these to 4 m high and 4,5 m wide.
Ecology : Primary and older secondary dryland rain-forest; sometimes reaching the forest-savanna margin; usually in clusters of ± 5 trees; 0-200(-500) m alt.
