Biology : Erect annual or short-lived perennial shrubby herb, with a taproot, 0,3-1,5 m tall; stems ramose, densely silvery or fulvous, the hairs appressed, rather long; leaves silvery beneath and green above.
Ecology : Grassland, especially on shallow soil; humid places; wooded savanna; often on sandy soil; 100-1200 m alt.
  Also cultivated.
