Biology : Low shrub to 1m tall; older parts woody, defoliate; young stems densely appressed-pubescent with grey hairs; older stems with rugose bark; leaves with 1-2 pairs of leaflets.
Ecology : Colophospermum mopane bush.
  S. Africa (c. 790-1170 m alt.); Namibia.
  Only one collection cited from Fl. Zambes. area. Collections from S Zimbabwe seem to be intermediate between T. limpopoensis and T. purpurea var. leptostachya (Brummitt, Bol. Soc. Brot., Sér. 2, 41: 246, 1968). [see more in the book]
