Biology : Perennial herb with a stout woody vertical stock and a taproot; stems copiously branched, slender prostate, 0,6-1,6 m long, often forming a mat; hairs spreading to 1,5 mm long. Aspect of a Medicago.
Ecology : Grassland, especially on sand; open ground, grassy places; damp meadows; roadsides, disturbed ground; 450-1800 alt.
  S. Africa, Namibia.
