Biology : Shrub; young stems ribbed, densely pubescent with short spreading white hairs; old stems glabrous, dark brown, lenticellate; fruit unknown.
Ecology : Red, stony soil on hill with Calliandra gilbertii; ±300 m alt.
  The slender, terete style with a recurved tip, and with long spreading hairs all around seems to be unique among the African species; perhaps a similarity is possible with American species; Calliandra gilbertii and Bourreria lyciacea from SW Somalia h
