Biology : Annual (? sometimes biennial) herb with robust, erect or prostate, branching stems ± 1,3-1,5 m tall, mostly 3-4 mm Ø; stems subglabrous (minutely appressed-pubescent in part), smooth.
Ecology : In rather busly pastures with tall herbage; sandy places; red clay soil; 1100-1950 m alt.
  Not in E. Africa (= T. elata ).
