Biology : Climbing shrub; stems 30-80 cm long, ±7-10 cm Ø at base; branchlets very numerous, slender when young, usually rather densely (sometimes sparsely) armed with deflexed and curved prickles to ±2 mm long, sometimes with black tips.
Ecology : Secondary forest; regrowth, fallow areas in rain-forest; savannas around forest; rocky cupola; sometimes forming dense tangles; Alchorneetum; 200-±950 m alt.
