Biology : Perennial climbing herb 0,5-7 m long; stems many, sparsely to densely covered with usually long (1,5-2 mm), spreading, bristly ferrugineous hairs.

Ecology : Humid places in niayes; forest gallery; rocky outcrop with wet flushes and thin soil with Selaginella njamnjamensis, Aeollanthus spp., Aloe sp. And many annuals, rowing along a/small brook; wooded savanna under shade; road sides; etc...
  Not in Niger (= V. parkeri ).
