Ecology and distribution

Biology : Prostrate trailing plnt from en extensive rootstock; stems branched or unbranched, c. 1,5 m long, pubescent with ± appressed or spreading, hairs, or typically densely hirsute; inflorscence densely woolly; flowers purple.
Ecology : Low rainfall Terminalia sericea-Acacia giroffae wooded grassland with Anthephora, Brachiaria, Schmidtia, etc.; 1030 m alt.
  Botswana, S. Africa, Namibia.
  Material in Fl. Zambes. area not typical for the species and specimens examined are intermediate in character (fide Verdcoury in Fl. Zambes. 3/5: 76, 2001).
