Biology : Graceful tree 3-12 m, with rounded and broad, spreading crown; branches rambling and spreading.
Ecology : Very open formation on clayey soil; open, high-grass woodland on rejuvenated soils; crest of limestone ridge; banks of rivers; woods on plateau; sometimes abundant with Protea spp., Combretaceae; thickets of Tamarix orientalis; 700-± 2000 m alt.
  S. Africa, Caprivi Strip, Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland.
  Not in W. Africa (= Bussea occidentalis ).
