Biology : Shrub or tree, 1,5-6(-12) m high; with straight, long smooth shoots; fruit not winged or ridged.
Ecology : Evergreen coastal bushland and dry forest, often forming a thick cover near high water mark; mangrove (Mafia Isl.); wide variety of soils (from sand and coral to heavy cracking clays); 0-400 m alt. Madagascar.
