Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Tree 3-15 m; branches grey, becoming black, with elliptic lenticels; young branchlets reddish-brown pubescent.
Ecology : Woodland with Adansonia, Sterculia, Acacia, etc. on red sand; mixed evergreen and dry forest with Pterocarpus, Xylia, Newtonia; sometimes abundant; 40-200 m alt.
  If in flowers similar to M. saclenxii but in fruit readily confused with M. bussei. In this condition attention should be paid to: - lateral newes usually not quite reaching the leaflet margin; the longer pedicels; [see more in the book]
