Biology : Perennial herb with several prostrate or decumbent, occasionally semi-erect to erect, simple or subsimple stems 20-45 cm tall, from a woody rootstock.
Ecology : Grasslands, open woodlands, usually on Kalahari sand or other sandy soils; to c. 1600 m alt.
  Namibia, S. Africa, Botswana.
  Probably more drought-resistant than the closely related C. capensis.
