Biology : Tree 9-15-30 m; bole 3,7 m in girth or more; crown wide-spreading, flat-topped; foliage dark; not buttressed. Savannas; sandy groung; hollows; among Borassus; savanna forest.
Ecology : Not in the Caribbean Islands except perhaps in Martinique at the time of Jacquin and in Santo Domingo (P. de Beauvois). Perhaps in Guiana (Bentham, 1875).
