Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Tree 25-40 m; bole slightly thickened at the base, 5-22 m long, 0,5-2 m Ø, cylindrical and straight, rarely >4 m in girth; crown dense.
Ecology : Sandy soils; in nearly pure stands; very common here and there on firm ground; more sporadic in riverine forest formations, periodically flooded or swampy; muhulu; in stands in tropophyllous forests; 750 m alt. (Angola).
