Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Shrub with woody roots 4-5 from the collar, 10 cm Ø at the top, 60 cm long; with herbaceous stems trailing or climbing or erect, becoming ± woody, furrowed, greyish, to 1,6 m tall.
Ecology : Miombo, Baikiaea and mixed woodland on Kalahari sand; often in grassy or disturbed places; wooded ± swampy savanna; c. 900-1050 m alt.
