Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Perennial climbing or trailing herb from a narrow horizontal or vertical woody rootstock 4-18 x 0,4-1,2 cm; flowering stems erect, leafless 15-50 cm tall; stems glabrous.
Ecology : Brachystegia, Uapaca, Parinari woodland; miombo woodland; grassland subject to fire; grassy savanna on red-clayey soil; 900-1800 m alt.
  Although agreeing with typical Vigna species in a number of ways this species is undoubtedly aberrant (Verdcourt); for inclusion in genus Vigna see Fl. Zambesiaca 3(5): 152, 2001.
