Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Vigorous trailing or climbing perennial herb from a woody rootstock; stems several m long, ridged, covered by brown hispid hairs; leaflets lobed, 3-10x3-10 cm; flowers white or pink in 3-7 cm long racemes; pod with brown hispid hairs, 2-3-seeded.
Ecology : Coastal grassland; weed of tapioka fields (Kenya); 0-50 m alt.
  Cultivated in Zimbabwe (Harare).
  Disjunct distribution: on the opposite coasts of the African continent.
