Ecology : Moist, usually densely shaded sites, forest, riverine and swamp forest, bushland, river banks, pathways; occasionally epiphytic on trunks and stumps of trees; sometimes on rocks; 370-2400 m alt. – Cultivated. Fernando Poo (Bioko).
  Very variable.
