Biology : Unarmed shrub or tree to 4-7 m tall; trunk cylindrical, gnarled, not straight; outer bark peeling in strong blackish scrolls from the copper-coloured very tough under-bark

Ecology : Acacia, Commiphora woodland and bushland with Combretum, Delonix, Kirkia, Sterculia, Terminalia, usually on rocky limestone slopes and ridges. 190-1500 m alt.
  Variable in size of leaflets and fruits. Very close to C. enneaphylla (but with more distinctly winged leaf-rhachis).
