Biology : Shrub or tree 6-10 m tall; crown rounded, open; bole pale green, much branched, with ascending branches; bark smooth, eventually peeling in brownish papery strips.

Ecology : In the savanna from Togo to Central African Rep., but often planted in towns and villages (ornamental, shade tree, live fences) and perhaps not known spontaneous. Also listed by Boulvert (Documents phytogeogr. guin.: 101, 1999) from Guinea (Fouta Djalon).
