Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Annual to biennial herb with evanescent leaf-rosett, which one flowering shoot (rarely more) arises; 40-150 cm tall.
Ecology : Clearings in upland rain-forest, along roads and tracks, etc.; 920-2700 m alt.; on lava in Tshitirunge (Zaire). Widespread in north temperate areas.
