Ecology : Forest patches; gallery forest; semi-evergreen forest; along footpath with Acacia pinnata, Grewia spp.; dense forest with Guarea cedrata; swamps. 500-1280 m alt.
  Not in Ghana (Darko 907 = L. ectypetala); not in Malawi (Burtt Davy 22407 on Pemba).
