Trop. Afr.
Biology : Herb or shrub (habitus very varying during the development) with branches 2-5 cm long without normal leaves, and later branches 50-75 cm long, leafy; from a stout woody rootstock.
Ecology : Open forest; ±wooded savanna; grassy plateau; “dembos”; open woodland and grassland; 1000-2300 m alt.
