Biology : Annual or sometimes biennial herb, much-branched from the base; stems decumbent 15-60 cm long.
Ecology : Clayey depressions. Morocco, Algeria, Egypt; from Arabia-Syria-Palestine-Jordan to NW India (50-650m alt.) and Central Asia (Pamir-Alai); introduced in S. Africa, Namibia.
