Ecology : Proteaceous scrub on well-drained rocky quartzite slopes, with Protea welwitschii, P. gazensis, P. neocrinita, Aeschynomene, Diplolophium; fire-resistant species, regenerating after burning; summer rainfall 1150-1500 mm / annum; 1500-2100 m alt.
