Biology : Shrub or tree 6-12 m tall with rough grey bark; wood hard, pink to deep red; branches spreading; young branchlets puberulous, often purplish red; leaves smaller than in B. discolor (1,2-4x 0,6-2,5 cm, not 5-11x3-6 cm); drupe yellow, edible.
Ecology : Open woodland, termite mounds. 60-1980 m alt.
