Biology : Shrub or bushy-topped tree to ±8 m tall. Intertidal mud-flats and estuaries; locally common on landward
Ecology : side of mangrove formations below high-water mark, but extending up to a mile inland in creeks; only found in saline places. S. Africa; from Madagascar to W Polynesia.
