Biology : Much branched dwarf shrub, yellowish-hairy; main branches to 10 cm long, prostrate or ascending, with very short lateral branchlets sometimes producing runners.
Ecology : Open soil on moraines; upland moor (Caricetum), abundant; 3600-4500 m alt.
  Probably of hybrid origin resulting from (a) cross(es) between A. argyrophylla subsp. argyrophylla and A. johnstonii. - Somewhat resembling A. dewildemanii. Only known from Ruwenzori.
