Biology : Evergreen shrub or tree 2-5 m tall; leaves leathery, alternate, with 57 leaflets; flowers c. 1 cm Ø, brownish red, in 30 cm long, drooping, spike-like racemes, with a sourish smell; fruit with 4-5 follicles.
Ecology : Cultivated in E Africa. Native of SE Brazil, Paraguay, N Argentina.
