  600-2300 m alt. Closely allied to the South African species T. costatum A. W. Hill, T. exile, N. E. Br. (also Swaziland), which are possibly conspecific (fide Hilliard, Fl. Zambes. 9/3).Resembling T. panganense (Tanzania) vegetatively.
