Ecology : Open Brachystegia woodland.
  1980-2100 m alt. Known only from 2 collections (type collected in 1896, the second one in 1975).Similar to T. fimbriatum, but perianth much smaller and lobes nearly glabrous. Suspected by Hilliard to be a cleistogamous form of that species.
