Biology : Shrub 0,4-0,8 m tall; trunk unbranched, c. 0,8 cm Ø, pubescent at apex; leaves c. 20 cm long (petiole 6-8 cm), rhachis and young parts densely yellowish-brown hairy.

Ecology : Evergreen forest, scattered.
  May be mistaken for an Eriocoelum sapling when sterile. Resembling C. atroviolaceus but fruit different (deeply 5-lobed, c. 7 cm Ø, purplish hairy).
