Biology : Tree to 3-5(-15) m tall; bole cylindrical; bark smooth; twigs glabrous, rounded; terminal bud covered by reddish indumentum (like P. boya).

Ecology : Forest, on rocky hills and streamsides; also moist semi-deciduous and moist evergreen forest.
  Leaves resembling those of P. riparius. Similar to P. boya.
