Trop. Afr.
Biology : Caulescent annual herb to 40 cm tall.
Ecology : Rocky places, roadsides, cultivated land; black soil of Acacia formicarum woods (Tanzania); 1050-1350 m alt. (E Africa) – Moist sand; savanna with Isoberlinia (Mali). Locally very common.
