Biologie : Terrestrial herb 10-40 cm tall, stem with spreading hairs; tubers ellipsoid, 1-1,5x1 cm; basal leaf 1, appressed to ground, ± orbicular, 1-3x1,5-3 cm, ± glabrous above, margins ciliate; stem leaves 2-3, bract-like, c. 1 cm long, hairy; inflorescence 1-11 cm long, laxly 2-21-flowered; flowers (yellow-)green, sometimes fragrant; bracts 3-7 mm long, softly hairy like pedicel and ovary, 7-11 mm long; sepals with spreading hairs outside; dorsal sepal erect, ovate, convex, 3-4x2-3 mm; laterals deflexed, lanceolate, c. 4x1,5 mm; petals glabrous, 2-lobed from near base, lobes linear-filiform; upper lobe erect, 2-3 mm long; lower lobe erect, 0,5-5 mm long; lip glabrous, curving down, 3-lobed from near base, lobes filiform; midlobe 3-6 mm long, side lobes 1,5-5 mm; spur 7-10 mm long, parallel to ovary.
Ecologie : Seasonally wet grassy depressions (vleis); marshy soil; bare places on laterite under trees; open Combretum woodland; 950-2000 m alt.
  Resembling H. keayi but spur shorter.
