Biologie : Perennial or rarely annual climbing herb 1,8-4 m long; stem glabrescent or with short appressed tubercular-based hairs which on the older stem lose their fine points and leave characteristic minute hooks.
Ecologie : Seasonally swampy grassland; grassland with scattered trees; old cultivations; sandy soil by river in semi-desert bushland; forests in rivers mouths; 0-1250 m alt.
