BGCI Accreditation
Advanced Conservation Practitioner

 Accréditation BGCI

The Conservatory and Botanical Garden of the City of Geneva (CJBG) has been granted the title of BGCI Accredited Advanced Conservation Practitioner by the BGCI, therefore reaching the highest level of conservation expertise. It recognises botanic gardens with a focus on conservation actions that support local, national or global conservation goals.
This distinction highlights the remarkable work done in the field of ex situ (within the institution) and in situ (in the nature) conservation at the CJBG and demonstrates the skills and know-how of our colleagues, through an international analysis carried out with rigor and without concession. The need for complementarity between scientific research and horticulture applied to wild plants takes on its full significance here.
