In his work Les races et l’histoire (1924), Eugène Pittard partially repeated Carl Vogt’s racist thinking on the “Negro” type. He thus claimed that the “African races proper, those of Egypt and part of Africa minor excepted, had played virtually no part in History, as understood by historians”.
