Biology : Shrub or bushy tree 0,5-6 m tall, with ascending branches, red when young, soon with 2 ribs or rounded.
Ecology : Bushland, grassland, dry evergreen forest margins and scrub near rivers, waterfalls; 840-3300 m alt. Near H. quartinianum. With several disjunct areas. S. Africa (Transvaal); Madagascar, Comoro Is., Mascarene Is.
