Ecology and distribution

Biology : Slender subherbaceous climber, to 8 m; sterile tendrils simple or 3-fid, 8-16 cm long; seeds and ripe fruit unknown.
Ecology : Rain-forest, often at edges, gallery forest; locally common in degraded forest in SE Cameroon; 500-1400 m alt. First record for F.T.E.A.-area: W Uganda, medium-altitude semi-deciduous forest, 1040-1265 m alt. (Eilu in Lidia 4/4: 119, 1999).
