Biology : Prostrate subshrub with trailing stems to 1 m long or ascending to 1,2 m, ?4 mm, from a woody rootstock.
Ecology : Open grassland at swamp (vlei) edges; open Brachystegia woodland; rather heavy soils subject to some waterlogging; also on sand; persisting in fallow lands and as a weed; 1200-1500 m alt.
