Ecology : Deciduous bushland, secondary scrub, on sand and coral outcrops along the coast; grassland with scattered trees, on sandy and clayey soils; riverine forest; edges of upland forest; thicket on lake shore; 1-1900m alt. (E Africa)– Overgrazed places (Mali).
  S. Africa (Transvaal); eastwards to China and Australia (New South Wales).
