Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Tufted annual or short-lived perennial with central tap-root, hairs mostly longer than the ?of the stem, etc. (see Kew Bull. internodes shorter than nodal scales, upper to 12(-15) mm long.
Ecology : Commiphora bushland on shallow well-drained soils, and in dry open places, often near rock outcrops; sometimes growing together with Portulaca wightiana; 350-1850 m alt. Often confused with P. quadrifida.
