Ecology : Deciduous woodland; thicket; wooded grassland; commonly associated with Combretum; rarely in Brachystegia woodland; grassy savanna; dry riverine forest; Loudetia arundinacea grassland with scattered trees of Terminalia laxiflora, T. brownii, etc...
  Not in the Flora Zambesiaca area (B. cathartica). Yemen.
  Comprises 2 subspp.
