Biology : Leaves and branches glabrous to tomentose; flowers solitary or in clusters without a common peduncle.
Ecology : Dry lowland woodland, wooded grassland; coastal bushland;alluvial Acacia woodland and bushland; Euphorbia woodland; riverine bushland.
  Hairiness very variable.
  0-2000 m alt All parts used in local medicine. Wood resembling that of Santalum album L. – Not cultivated.
  Occurring over the whole African range of the species. Also in Madagascar.
