Biology : Perennial herb with horizontal somewhat moniliform rhizome; culms few, 15-47 cm long, 0,7-1,3 mm Ø, trigonous, minutely but densely hairy; leaves to 21,5 cm long; sheath pale green, 2,5-10,5 cm long; blade linear, flat, rather stiff, 1-11 cm x 3-4 mm, upp
Ecology : Grassland; wooded grassland; open woodland; 800-2000 m alt.
  M. albopilosus has a strong resemblance to some Kyllinga species. Its geographical distribution is disjunct.
