Biology : Erect herb 15-30 cm tall with slender culms and thick perennial tufts of old culms and leaf-bases; basal sheaths fimbriate, fuscous; blade to 0,5 mm wide, 1/2 the length of the culm; inflorescence a loose umbel, subcompound with 2-9 spikelets dull brown,
Ecology : Depressions in rocky outcrops; shallow soils on seasonally swampy ground; seepage areas; temporary pools on skeletal soils; ? to c. 1400 m alt.
  Probably not in Sénégal.
