Trop. Afr.
Biology : Robust terrestrial herb 25-110 cm tall; sterile stem rarely produced; flowering stem with 10-20 cauline leaves; inflorescence dense, with numerous orange flowers c. 8 mm Ø and bracts to 20 mm long.
Ecology : Typical grassland species on cooler moister southern slopes at 0-2000 m alt.
  According to World Checklist of Selected Plant Families, Orchidaceae, Roy. Bot. Gard., Kew, occurring in S. Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland. However, according to the maps given by Johnson & Brown and Brown (cited above) the species may be present in the S-most part of Mozambique.
